Kennesaw Mountain PTSA would like to announce the “From the Heart” Scholarship.
Seniors are eligible to earn scholarship money just by writing a short essay and filling out the application. Any Senior in good standing can apply. Senior must be a PTSA member. Applications must be turned in by 12:00pmon March 27th, 2017 to the front office. Scholarship winners will be announced on April 13th at 4:00 pm in the media center. Good Luck Seniors!! Cap & Gown Rentals, Graduation Announcements
Herff-Jones will be taking graduation announcement and cap/gown rental orders during ALL lunches October 25th and 26th.
Parent night for graduation announcement and cap/gown rental orders is October 25th from
4:00PM – 7:00PM in the cafeteria.

Seniors – Time to fill out your FAFSA! October 1 is the new date seniors can fill out their FAFSA for college! Remember, all college bound seniors should complete the FAFSA, regardless of your family’s income! Many colleges will not award scholarships without the completion of this, including scholarships that are not need based. Here are some helpful resources:

Your 1st transcript requested through our office is free; $2 for each additional transcript. (Common App we charge as 1 school). You can send your transcript to UGA free by requesting it through www.gafutures.org.

IMPORTANT: When students fill out their Transcript/Recommendation Request Card in the Counseling Office, they MUST turn the card in to our clerk. Please do NOT file the card back in the box. Doing so will result in transcripts and rec’s not being mailed or completed.

Magnet Seniors – Please check Edmodo for an important assignment (completing and submitting your student profile sheet) from your counselor, Mrs. LaRoy. In Edmodo, go to the Magnet Class of 2017 group. The assignment should be pinned as the first post. Deadline to submit profile sheet: September 1.
CLASS OF 2017 Updates
Information regarding graduation invitations, cap and gown orders, and the class of 2017 graduation ceremony will posted as it is received from the Cobb County School District. Please check the school website regularly for updates.
Senior letters were distributed through homeroom on August 17th. Letters were mailed home for any seniors who were not in homeroom or do not have a homeroom. This letter includes important information regarding graduation requirements. It is important to verify the name, date of birth, and social security number on the transcript. This information must be correct for students to receive HOPE/Zell Miller Scholarship. If there is a discrepancy, your student should come to the Counseling Office.

Senior picture proofs will take 2-3 weeks to arrive at your house. To choose your photos for the yearbook, you can go online (if you have created an account) and view them online before the printed proofs. In order to make your selections, you must call (800) 736-4775.
