Thanksgiving – Adopt A Family

The PTSA Community Outreach Committee is teaming up with KMHS Social Worker, Bethany Miller, to help those within our community in need during the holidays.  If you would like to provide a Thanksgiving Meal to another KMHSFamily in need, please contact Tammie Jackson at by November 7th.  She will send you instructions and the list of Thanksgiving items to purchase for our Thanksgiving Baskets.

If you would like to help but aren’t sure if you can provide an entire basket, please contact Tammie and she can partner you with another family or two.

Baskets will be distributed to families on November 17th. Thank you for giving a helping hand and for being a true blessing to families within our community.

Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week is recognized around the nation as a way to encourage students to say no to drugs.  It also reminds students to take care of their bodies by eating right, getting enough exercise and by not being a bully to others.  KMHS PTSA will have a Red Ribbon Week banner available for students to sign in the cafeteria.  Also, students can answer the prompt “My drug-free dream is…” (Describe a personal goal or dream).

All students who provide a serious answer to this question and turn it in to the PTSA‘s Red Ribbon Week table will be entered in a drawing to win two free NCG Movie tickets.  Some answers will be shared in the PTSA weekly E-News.

Look for more information coming soon on Red Ribbon Week activities.

Homecoming Dance

Dance tickets go on sale Tuesday October 18th.  On that day only, tickets will be $20 a piece.  Tickets will also be sold Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for $25 dollars a piece.

All students attending  the dance must sign a dance contract.  Dance contracts will be provided  when students purchase tickets.  Below is the link to the dance contract.

Special THANKS to KMHS PTSA business partner Thrasher Coffee for donating at no charge all of the coffee and cups for the New Orleans style cafe at the Homecoming Dance.  We would not be able to provide this special treat to our students without their help.  Please support Thrasher Coffee.

Baseball Booster Club Fundraiser

Order your butt now! The Baseball Booster Club is selling Boston Butts cooked and seasoned by Zeigler’s BBQ of Acworth. The meat will be individually wrapped in a foil pan and chilled, ready to be reheated for your family’s meal or special occasion. Each Boston Butt yields approximately 4 to 6 pounds of cooked meat and will include reheating instructions and additional seasoning. The Boston Butts can be used immediately or can be frozen for use at a later date.

The Boston Butts will be picked up by our baseball families on Thursday, October 27, 2016 (just in time for the Georgia/Florida game, Halloween, the World Series, or just a great family meal) and delivered to you by the player you order from.  We are selling the Boston Butts for just $40 each, which is much less than what Zeigler’s sells the same amount of meat.  Bottles of Zeigler’s BBQ sauce are just $5 each.

Please see a Mustang baseball player to order your butt by October 19 or contact Jerry Bontrager at

Homecoming Dance

The Kennesaw Mountain Homecoming dance this year is Saturday October 22nd and the theme is Mardi Gras. We need lots of helpers to set up/serve/clean up and to make beignets at the dance. We also need help with donated ingredients because the PTSA budget for this event is small but the wish list is long! We really want the students to kick back, relax and have a great time. Help of all kinds is very appreciated.
